This post is published on the day when the law changes for new assured shorthold tenancies, and one change for all tenancies.
From now on all new tenancies must comply with the various rules which I have discussed in posts over the past couple of weeks.
There are also the new rules on smoke and carbon monoxide alarms which will affect all tenancies.
Below is a list of all of these posts so you can find them easily. The list gives what they are about rather than the precise name of the post:
- Smoke and carbon monoxide alarms
- Introduction to the section 21 changes
- Time limits
- Energy Performance Certificates
- Gas Certificates
- The ‘How to Rent’ booklet
- Retaliatory eviction
- The new section 21 form
Here are some posts written later with extra comments on the new rules
You should also watch my discussions with Ben Reeve Lewis about the new rules on Landlord Law TV episode 3.
