Landlords have been double crossed by the Government regarding the six weeks rent as a deposit, this being reduced to five weeks, which only proves how stupid and out of touch MP’s are on housing matters. It’s quite common for tenants to leave having not paid the final months rent leaving landlords to take it out of the deposit, which gives one weeks money to cover all damages and any cleaning that may be needed. In many parts of the country this sum won’t even cover the costs of a professional clean. MP’s pandering to Generation Rant and Shelter yet again.
