The Landlord Law Conference Talks – Gas and Electricity in Rented Homes #lllconf

March 13, 2019 by Tessa Shepperson

Peter MarcusThe Landlord Law Conference (sponsored by Hamilton Fraser) is getting closer.  This short series will look at the Conference talks we have on offer and how they will help you.

Peter Marcus – Gas and Electricity in Rented Homes

We have not had a utility based talk at the Conference since 2015 but this is a good year for one – as new regulations are proposed for electricity which will probably impose mandatory checks.

Then over the past year, the importance of serving gas safety certificates on tenants has sprung into importance as failure to do this properly will mean landlords cannot use section 21.  Plus there is the perennial problem of what do you do if tenants won’t let you in to do your checks?

Housing Barrister Peter Marcus (from Zenith Chambers in Leeds), one of our most popular Conference speakers, will be discussing all of this in his usual entertaining manner.

Note that Peter will also be doing another talk at the end of the day when he will be answering delegates questions on Court Procedures.
